Our winery respects the centuries old winemaking tradition first brought to the region by Carthusian monks. They arrived to the region in 1165 and carefully nurtured the very soil from which our vineyards grow today.

Gold is the colour our grapes turn to just before harvest. It is the colour of the sun rays which that embrace Mount Konjice mountain day after day. Gold is what makes our wines what they are.

Sašo grew up in the region of Slovenske Konjice and proudly honors the 850-year-old winemaking tradition.
Wine made with care, by the locals
We split our production between our state-of-the-art wine cellar and the nearby historical charterhouse Žička Kartuzija.
Our unique wine cellar spans across 3,500 sqm and can store up to 1.3 mil litres of wine. It's truly one of a kind.
Apart from being a cultural landmark, the 'Žička kartuzija' charterhouse serves an important purpose for the aging process of our sparkling and archive wines.

Žička kartuzija
A legend says that the founder of the charterhouse, nobleman Otakar, was so charmed by the beauty of the valley that he sat down to enjoy it for a while. When there, he fell asleep and dreamt of John the Baptist, who ordered him to build the very charterhouse that is there today.
The complex has recently undergone a reconstruction and it's well worth the visit.
Slovenske Konjice
The town of Slovenske Konjice lies below the Škalce hills and as such bears a long-standing tradition of winemaking. A walk through the Old Town Square Centre split by a charming stream will take you to the Riemer Town Gallery, the baroque Trebnik Mansion, and the parish church of Saint George.

Konjice Castle
A short hike through the town and up the hill takes you to the ruins of Stari grad (The Old Castle) with one of the best views across the valley. The castle was owned by Count Tattenbach, who was also the former owner of The Winegrower's Mansion. It predates the founding of the Žiče Charterhouse in 1165, which makes it one of the oldest castles in the wider area.
Pohorje Treetop Walk
Relax your mind amidst the treetops and enjoy Slovenia as seen by birds. The observation tower is 37 metres tall and visitors can experience the 62 metres long slide down the whole path. The walkway is open from January to December.
Rogla with Lovrenc Lakes
A journey to Slovenia's Lovrenc Lakes, sometimes referred to as Lovrenc's Pearls, not only offers the chance to admire the serene water bodies but also leads you along a 15 km hiking trail from a popular mountain and ski resort Rogla through the Pohorje region.
Center Noordung
Herman Potočnik Noordung was a prominent Slovenian rocket engineer and a pioneer of astronautics and cosmonautics. Today, the Center Noordung bears his name to honour his legacy. Lose yourself in the world of cosmonautics in one of the guided exhibitions, VR-experiences or come to appreciate the architecture as is.
